Must-Follow Creative Twitter Accounts for Designers and Their Websites Building Techniques

Curated by Muzli, this list features top international designers, design firms, and design brand Twitter accounts for creative inspiration. I've cataloged the website platforms used by each, serving as a reference for designers building their personal or brand websites. This list is updated periodically, so feel free to check back for the latest (Last updated: April 7, 2024)

Inspiration struck: I wanted to discover which website platforms top “designers” internationally use to establish their brand identity or personal websites. Thus, I began analyzing the Twitter list meticulously curated by Muzli. This list includes designers with rich experience, newcomers, professionals from design-related organizations, and sources of artistic inspiration. My goal was to identify the tools they use to build their websites and shape their personal brands, providing a clear overview for future reference. This can also serve as a guide for other designers just starting out or looking to create their own portfolio websites. (Note: Twitter is the predecessor of X).

Jumping straight to the conclusion: WordPress leads in usage, with Webflow and Framer tied for second place.

Website Platform Usage Ratio

In a list of 149 names, more than half use third-party platforms for their websites, including website builders and social media. If the website platform field is blank, it may indicate the site was custom-coded rather than built with a website builder. Among those using third-party platforms, WordPress has the highest usage rate, with Webflow and Framer tied for second, followed closely by Linktree. Others also use social media directly as a platform to showcase their work.
